One of the STURGEON - class fast attack submarines, the USS QUEENFISH was the second ship in the Navy to bear the name. Both decommissioned and stricken from the Navy list on April 14, 1992, the USS QUEENFISH entered the Navy's Nuclear Powered Ship and Submarine Recycling Program at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, Wash., on May 1, 1992. Recycling was finished on April 7, 1993.
