Named after the village in Humboldt County, Calif., the ARCATA was one of the NATICK - class large harbor tugs and the third ship in the Navy to bear the name. Throughout her career, the ARCATA served in the Seattle, Wash., area. Stricken on April 4, 2004, the ARCATA was sunk as a target on October 2, 2004, at 33° 10' 20'' North, 120° 57' 01'' West in 1,315 fathoms of water.
