SHABONNE was one of the NATICK - class large harbor tugs and the second tug in the Navy named after the Potawatomi chief, grand nephew of Pontiac, who lived in the Midwest section of the United States from 1775 to 1859. Stricken on February 16, 2002, the tug was sold to McAllister Towing and was placed in service as DANIEL McALLISTER in the Hampton Roads area.
